Northwest Economic Development Course

August 24-27, 2026

Registration is on, now.

The Northwest Economic Development Course is the premier event offering intensive training in the basic concepts, methods and strategies of local economic development. It offers a unique opportunity to learn new techniques, relevant strategies and the latest resources to support your community economic development program.

A diverse and experienced faculty provides attendees with an excellent blend of theory and practice. Course content is oriented toward practical application. Practitioners new to the field as well as those with experience seeking new ideas and tools are encouraged to attend.

The Northwest Economic Development Course is accredited by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). It fulfills one of the prerequisites for those who wish to take the examinations for the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation. If you are unable to attend the Northwest Course, the IEDC offers similar accredited programs throughout the U.S.

If you have questions or would like to be added to our program mailing list, please contact Linda Alongi, course co-director, Washington State Department Commerce.
